APA 7th Edition: APA Format Checklist

This guide gives the basic rules of using APA Format . Learn how to: write an abstract; format headings; format in-text citations; and construct your References page.

APA Format Checklist

Before you turn in your paper, ask yourself if...

 You followed APA style, 7th edition.
 You double-spaced your entire paper (including your References)
 You used an approved font (or the font specified by your instructor) consistently, throughout your paper.
 You indented your paragraphs.
 You used one-inch margins on all 4 sides of the page.
 You have a separate Title page with:
  •  the paper title,
  •  your name, 
  • Monroe College,
  • Course Title,
  • Instructor Name and
  • Due Date listed.

 You have followed any requirements and expectations set by your professor, even if they contradict these rules.

 You followed APA style, 6th edition.
 You double-spaced your entire paper.
 You used Times New Roman, 12 point font.
 You indented your paragraphs.
 You used one-inch margins on all sides of the paper.
 You have a separate cover page with the title of the paper, your name, and Monroe College listed.

 You added a header with the title of your paper and page numbers in the upper right corner of each page.
