  • MARGINS: 1" on all sides
     
  • PLACEMENT: second page of the paper (Page 2)
     
  • SECTION HEADING: Abstract - centered and in bold - on the first line of the page
     
  • First line is NOT indented
     
  • written as a single paragraph
  • description of the topic of your research question(s)
     
  • a clearly stated hypothesis (theory), thesis statement, or question.
     
  • methods used, including brief descriptions of the sources of your research: Did you use scholarly articles, news sources, surveys, government websites, etc.?
     
  • resultsWhat did you find? Basically, a summary of the Conclusion of your essay.
     
  • proposed solutions/remedies/directions for further research (i.e., why this study is important, applications of the results or findings)
